During a first trip to Abomey (Benin) in December 2009, two musicians of Mâäk’s Spirit met various Benin artists. In April 2010 the artistic core of the project will meet in Benin for the further creation of the project: in ten days there will be rehearsals and two concerts: one in Abomey (16/04), the village of the main percussionist Albert Anangoko, and one in Cotonou (17/04), in a space called Tchiff.
This project will also be shown in Europe in November 2010,
The band gonna perform in Mali next january. From Bamako to Tombouctou, meetings, performances, and concerts. You can check the website of le festival au desert where we gonna perform.
Maak’s Spirit is a collective of five musicians finding its roots in jazz, rock, contemporary western music, actual improvised music…
